Acrylic paint, Guernsey Granite.
For this commission I was asked to create two paintings of this favourite local scene on Guernsey granite stones collected from a nearby beach.
This was a hugely sentimental piece as one stone was to be placed on the grave of a loved one whom whilst born and raised in Guernsey, died and was buried in the UK more than 50 years ago. The other was to be retained locally to serve as a reminder of the loved one. The two pieces of work, which are so similar, will serve as a connection between the birthplace and the final resting place.
